  69. MEDLIN ACCOUNTING SHAREWARE.  This document contains only a brief
  70. description of the package and its features, along with instructions for
  71. its installation.  Detailed documentation is included in the package in
  72. the form of a Windows Help file.

  75. program, WITHOUT SPENDING TIME READING A MANUAL, then MWPR - Medlin
  76. Windows Payroll is the program for you!  This program is very quick and
  77. easy to use.

  79. MWPR - Medlin Windows Payroll is a shareware program.  This evaluation
  80. version includes all features of the program.  You may use it for up to
  81. 30 days, without charge (see MWPR.HLP for more details).  If you like the
  82. program, and wish to continue its use after this evaluation period, you
  83. are required to pay for the program. Any fee you may have paid to others
  84. (disk vendors, dealers, etc.) to obtain this evaluation version was a fee

  103. ===== Installation =====================================

  105. The installation procedure for MWPR - MEDLIN WINDOWS PAYROLL is quite
  106. simple.  The disk package includes a program, "SETUP.EXE", which
  107. automates the entire process.  MWPR requires less than 1/4 megabyte of
  108. disk space.  The program requires no changes to any existing files on
  109. your hard disk.
  110.  
  111. The file VBRUN300.DLL must be in your Windows\System directory for MWPR
  112. to run.  It is not included in this .ZIP file to shorten your download
  113. time.  If you do not have a copy of VBRUN300.DLL, it should be available
  114. from the same source you downloaded MWPR.  VBRUN300.DLL is a "library"
  115. file that is shared by most windows programs.  You only need one copy, no
  116. matter how many of your programs use it.

  118. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  119.  
  120. To install from diskette, you need to perform the following steps.
  121.  
  122.    o  Place MWPR distribution diskette in the appropriate diskette drive.
  123.    Start Windows.
  124.  
  125.    o  Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program on the distribution diskette,
  126.    either by choosing File/Run from the Program Manager or by double
  127.    clicking on SETUP.EXE from the File Manager.
  128.  
  129.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program. The
  130.    program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy the
  131.    MWPR files to that directory.  If you so direct it, the installation
  132.    program will install executable programs and documentation in other
  133.    directories of your choice.  It will not modify your autoexec.bat or
  134.    config.sys files or any Windows files.

  138. INSTALLING FROM A ZIP FILE
  139.  
  140. If you downloaded MWPR from a BBS (or received it in the form of zipped
  141. files from some other source), perform the following steps.

  143.    o  Use the File Manager or drop to DOS to create a directory on your
  144.    hard drive. You may use any allowable directory name, but we recommend
  145.    MWACCT to be consistent with the setup program supplied with the
  146.    diskette version.  Change directory into the new directory.
  147.  
  148.    o  Run the unzip program by typing PKUNZIP MWPR196 from the DOS prompt
  149.    or from the File/Run section of Program Manager.
  150.  
  151.    o  You may run the program directly from File Manager or create a
  152.    program group and a program item using File/New in Program Manager.
  153.    You must have a copy of VBRUN300.DLL in your Windows System directory
  154.    for the MWPR program to run.  Chances are you already do.  If not, you
  155.    may download VBRUN300.DLL from any BBS.

  159. Once you've complete the installation, you should consult the help file
  160. ("MWPR.HLP").  You may read the MWPR.HLP by double clicking it from the
  161. File Manager or by pressing F1 from inside MWPR or by choosing HELP from
  162. the MWPR menu bar.  The help file allows you to read the entire file
  163. sequentually by clicking the >> symbol.
